Ross and Brandi Knight

What an honor it is to be considered, much less chosen to photograph another photographer's wedding. We are honored and humbled to actually be documenting three photographer's weddings this year. Our first one was for Ross Knight and his beautiful bride Brandi. They have become good friends over the past year and it was simply a joy to be able to to capture their wedding on March 9th.

Most of you know that we returned to the states from Thailand on the 4th. Added to the jet lag came me being sick and Chris not feeling too hot either. Our close friends at LaCour were all going to be in attendance and kindly offered to help if we were not feeling 100% when the wedding day arrived. Clients occasionally ask what you do if by some strange circumstance something happens on the day of a wedding and you are unable to make it to the wedding. This is a perfect example. Our industry is wonderful to help each other out and cover you if something happens. We have such a strong group of photographers that would do anything for each other. Mark ended up getting sick and him and Erin were unable to be at the wedding, but Andrew and Rachel were there to help. It meant the world to us and they were able to capture some great stuff.

You can see the slideshow to Ross and Brandi's wedding by clicking here.

The wedding colors were just beautiful and I found myself loving to keep the images in color instead of my normal tendency to change them into black and white. : )

I love how peaceful this image of Brandi getting ready feels.

Detail of the guys.

Photobucket

Brandi glowed the entire day. Light was dancing on her skin.

Photobucket

Ross gave Brandi a beautiful journal, (shown in the first image with his ring on it) and here she is reading the first passage that he wrote to her for their wedding day.

It's time to get married!

Photobucket

I'm loving this shot Chris captured of Ross as he composes him self before Brandi walks down the isle.

Photobucket

Here is Brandi seeing her grandparents as she walks down the isle.

Such a typical Ross expression. Andrew caught this one as Ross is seeing his bride for the first time.

Photobucket

Being that it was a photographer's wedding. There were a "few" people taking pictures. : )

Photobucket

Another one of Andrew's great shots. Brandi was so tender.

Like I said, a "few" people were taking pictures.

Photobucket

Some details. My shot is on the right and Andrew's is on the left.

Photobucket

A few table details. The second one is Rachel's.

A fun dancing image.

Brandi's mother passed away when she was young from Breast Cancer. This has been a huge driving force in Brandi's life. Everyone wore pink ribbon buttons with her name on it. Then Ross presented Brandi with a painting of her mother. To top it off he made the painting into US Postal stamps for each guest. Here he is presenting the stamp and painting to her. It was a tender moment for her.

The box that carried the stamps and their bride and groom bag.

As you can probably tell by now; Ross is quite the romantic. He then had a beautiful poem that he had written read out loud to Brandi.

We then headed out with them after they left and did some portraits of them. It was perfect because they were so relaxed and we had no time constraints.

A few shots of all of us (excluding Chris (sorry babe!)) in action.

I snagged these two of Andrew and Rachel being amazing friends.

Then Andrew caught this one of me.

Katie's Favorites

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Today's favorite is something you have seen before, but it is my favorite image that I have taken. While we were in Vegas it won an Award of Excellence. It's a great honor for any image to win an award, but I was especially happy when this one received the award.

We have a fun wedding to post tomorrow, so definitely come back by then!

Katie's Favorites

I wanted to send out my favorite item today! We are really aware of our impact on our earthly home. We have always been healthy minded, but now want to carry that over into our cleaning products and how we effect the planet. One way we can do that is by what we clean our home and do our laundry with. I love Seventh Generation and what they stand for and do. This is a company I believe in and feel good about using. Definitely go check them out and think how you can help out the planet. They have wonderful facts about the planet and what using them can do to help create change.

WPPI

We are happy to say that we have power and water back. After two weddings we were helping with this weekend it is nice to get a shower before flying out. We are leaving for Vegas this afternoon. We'll be there until Thursday for the WPPI convention for photographers. We'll be there to check out the latest and greatest in technology, products and photographers. We'll have internet access, but a little limited. Don't hesitate to email us with any inquiries or questions.

Weather and Technology

Last night a tornado hit downtown Atlanta. We were out when it happened. It ripped through just a few blocks from our building. It severely damaged the Olympic Park, CNN building, flattened some lofts and took down 20 homes in Cabbagetown. It looks really bad out there. We are safe and our building is OK. We are still without power though. I am posting this from my iPhone.

Another issue is we've been dealing with our server, and it is effecting our email. You might be some of the ones trying to email us, but getting themb ouncing back. We respond to email quickly. If you have not heard back from us, then please try again. Please copy the email to chris.w.torres@gmail.com to make sure we receive it.

Thank you for your patience as we deal with both technical difficulties.

Cypress Albums

We use Cypress Albums and love them for their unique qualities. We received another studio sample in today and thought we would share the joys of opening a box from them. Their attention to detail and delicate way of delivery has won us over as clients. If you are one of our couples who selected Cypress as your album, this is what you have to look forward to. This is one of their smaller albums. We wanted one to display some of our Indian Wedding images. We have their larger album already in our studio.

It comes with a carrying bag to protect it if you have to travel with it.

Katie's Favorites

OK, we are trying to get back in the swing of things here. I know that my Monday tradition of Katie's Favorites has been over looked. So, we wanted to get that back going.

Here is one of our new favorites. Unfortunately, you'll have to go to Thailand to get it. : )

It's Mango and Sticky Rice. First off, we are addicted to sticky rice. Then you add a perfectly ripe Thailand mango to it and it's heaven. They take the sweet sticky rice and put it beside the sliced mango. Then they pour (I thought sweetened condensed milk but it's really) coconut milk over the rice and put shaved dried soy beans on top. OH MY GOODNESS. It just melts in your mouth. Due to the calorie in take, I only allowed myself a few bites.

Doster and Family

We've been getting over jet lag and being sick. So this week has been a hard one. It was such a fun break from it all to go to my sister's home on Saturday morning. They moved into their new home the weekend we left for Thailand. We helped them move, but were unable to see it settled in until now. It's so fun to see it. I loved all she has done with it. Doster is 2 1/2 and we did some pictures of him and then a few of the family all together. Enjoy this stinkin' adorable nephew of mine.

His new bed and bedroom.

I just can't decide which is my favorite.

Home Safe and Sound

Wow, the last 30+ hours were quite the whirlwind. We left Bangkok at 1:40am on Korean Air ( a WONDERFUL airline by the way) and arrived in Seoul around 8:45 am which includes a two hour time change. We were there and even though feeling horrible, still forced ourselves to get out in the city to experience Seoul. We checked our luggage, bought our bus tickets and headed out.Seoul is very clean, progressive and orderly, yet also eclectic and colorful. We really enjoyed looking around.

We stepped off the bus to meet large snow flakes flowing freely. We are now having chills from lack of sleep and not feeling good from the flight before, tired, cold and wet. Yet we went on. We walked the streets some and then came to an area that a friend of mine recommended. Insadong. It's a quaint little area with artists and vendors lining the streets. There were smaller side streets coming off this side street. We wanted to venture out and see if there was something on it. The road was very short and winded back. It had a few little restaurants on it. We went in one and walked right back out due to the smell.

Then we saw what we were looking for this adorable little restaurant that looked like a cross between a little European cafe and a Korean kitchen. It was so little with three tables. All were a blonde color with shutters opening up to the little street and showing the snow. It gets interesting here because, even though we knew some Thai, we knew NO Korean. Ordering food was a little bit of an ordeal. We really wanted to just have them give us anything at that point. We were so wet and cold anything would have been fine. (I say that, but some Korean food scares me.) My friend had emailed me something to eat. I LUCKILY had my laptop with me and pulled it out and showed her the email. We wanted Bulgogi. It's beef marinated in pear juice. Finally we had communication. Our sweet Korean waitress reminded me of a caring mom and she wanted to take care of us. She was even wiping our camera off from the snow that had melted on it.

Once we were able to order we were relived and she was equally excited. We ate and were content with our warm broth, meat and rice. It could not have been more picturesque. We then walked back to the bus stop and went to the airport.

The ride from Seoul to Atlanta was on Delta and we went over the Pacific Ocean this time. It was a good flight for that length, and we were able to pass the time away with many movies. We are now nursing our jet lag, and Chris is off running errands and picking up Asia. It's wonderful to be home, but we are still dealing with some reverse culture shock. Here is a picture for you of me taking a break from the snow. Note the KT. : ) I was all over that country.kttelephonebooth.jpg Here is the view out our little lunch stop. koreanrestaurant.jpg
