More Loft Teasers and Key West

Today Chris and I are flying to Key West to shoot a wedding with our friend Ben Vigil. It should be a good working weekend. : ) It is the beginning to our six trips coming up in the next month and a half. We are going to have a great time, and we are excited. We are going to Key West, Chicago, Albany (GA), Orlando, Saint Simons Island and Savannah, and then Orlando again. What fun it will all be! Thanks to all of our wonderful couples. We can't wait for your big days!

Before our travels begin, we wanted to give you a few more loft teasers. :D I know, you want to see the whole thing already! Soon enough, soon enough.

Zach and Gretchen Take II

You may remember Zach and Gretchen's New Years Engagement Session. Gretchen still wanted some spring pictures for their wedding that will be in August. They are the sweetest couple and dear to Chris and I. We cannot wait until their wedding. It will be such a celebration.

Enjoy!

As usual, Chris rocked this shoot as well. He has such a great eye. He had so many amazing shots-many here on the blog- but this one I really loved. His use of lighting here is amazing!

Wande and Deen

Spring time is wonderful on so many different levels. You are able to be out more, the sun is shining (hopefully) and life just seems happier. The other fun aspect is engagement sessions. It seems to be the perfect weather for them. We can see that our couples seem to have a spring to their step too. We met up with Deen and Wande and had an amazing time. They kept us laughing the entire time. We didn't want to go home afterwards! Let me tell you about their fashion too. Wande looked smokin'! We took advantage of the fun architecture at Atlantic Station. Then we did some fun night shots with some more lighting. Thanks guys for such an amazing time. Here is your slideshow.

Shantel and Michael

You may have notices the picture of rings in grass a few posts back. We promised a slideshow and more pictures by the week's end. We are here to deliver!

Michael and Shantel were so precious to work with. The have the utmost respect for our art and our eye. We had a great time with them. Not only were they joining one another, but also their children. They are making one amazing family. The were married at the beautiful Primrose Cottage in Roswell, Georgia. We were afraid of rain during the week, but it ended up being a wonderful day with sprinkles as they drove away. Perfect timing! Enjoy this slideshow.

Benjamin's turn to be a Senior

Benjamin is now the senior. He has been raised in a home where his parents are foster parents to many children. So it is now his turn after 11 seniors before him. This family is amazing. You will be seeing more about them soon. I am wowed by them and their love for each other. Benjamin was cracking me up. We took some more serious portraits, but half the time he was just making goofy modeling poses. He will be going to the University of Tennessee. He received a new blazer from his Grandparents with the the UT "T" all on the inside. He had fun showing that off, as he is very proud of his school of choice.
It was a great time. Enjoy the pictures, and this is the slideshow.

6 of Four - Did you know?

Have you wondered what our unique name means? Well today is your biggest hint. 6 of Four means the 6th of the fourth month...April 6th! This day was very significant to us. So much so that we named our business after the date. It is when Chris and I had our first date. This was the day that sparked a change in the old business and transitioned it into a partnership. It was the begining of our story and of us capturing your story.

It is also our dog, Asia's birthday. We went on a hike for her birthday for our first date. For those of you who are dog lovers, you know how it is to love a dog so much and to observe their birthdays! : )

Here is a picture of Asia on her big day:

Silly, I know.

It's been a long week of unpacking, settling and making the Studio look amazing. It was nice to have some company today. My sister, her two kids, my mom and my two cousins came by. Lori and Jenny were raised in Thailand and are now in college in the states. They are down for Easter and wanted to see the new loft. We went to my favorite new restaurant in walking distance, No Mas. It's amazing. Enjoy the pictures. Thanks for the fun day!

Caroline and Doster loved seeing the "choo choo" going by!

Aren't they beautiful?!?!

Yea! A good group shot!

I loved the lighting.

Fun times.

Afterwards we went to IKEA. Jenny had never been and she loved it. I look forward to seeing you girls more. It's great having family close by!

Happy Anniversary

Today is our first anniversary. What a year it has been. We are amazed by how far we've come and at how far we have yet to go. I want to start this blog off with our vows which we wrote.

" Will you first glorify God in your marriage? That it might be a testimony to his grace and mercy in your lives?
Will you love and cherish each other placing them as your first priority? Making your marriage and love for each other above all others?
Will you serve each other with a humble spirit? That you might extend the humble spirit that Christ portrayed to us.
Will you make honesty a daily goal? To constantly come to each other with openness?
Will you commit your devotion to each other through perilous and joyous times? Whether you are safe or in harm.
Will you entrust to each other your body; in that your mind and your heart? Whether you are ill or well, will you seek their security and protection?
Will you support each other's talents and gifts and what makes them come alive? Will you encourage them to pursue and achieve all that God has for them?
Will you remember the legacy you have received from your family? Will you pass this legacy on to your children and remind them of the heritage they have been gifted?"

Legacy was the most important factor to our marriage. We wrote a long portion in our program about it and it was in our vows. Both sets of Grandparents on both sides as well as parents had strong marriages and there are no divorces in the legacy that we received. They were all extremely hard working and devoted to their faith and family. This humbled us as we approached our wedding. What a gift we had been giving and what an honor it was to be handed this responsibility.

I have been thinking of my grandparents as we approached our anniversary. Here is one picture of my mom's parents.

This picture from their wedding sits in our bedroom with our wedding pictures. It is a very important picture to us, reminding us of the commitment that they held.

Then thinking of my Dad's parents is on a little funnier note. My Grandma Bergen used to go pick out her presents and then tell Grandpa what she wanted for their Anniversary, Christmas or her birthday. Then he would go buy them. I think she wrapped them and then she would open them and act surprised. This always made me laugh and I wanted her to let him surprise her once in a while. Well, for our anniversary, we bought each other watches. (The Modern Tradition for the First Anniversary) We both picked them out....as we are very picky and bought them. It made me laugh as this is what Grandma always did. Here are a few pictures of the new watches.

The American Tradition for the First Anniversary is paper. So we are considering our new "papers" for the loft we just bought to be that gift. :)

I want to end with some wedding pictures that we taken a year ago. Jerrod Brown, a dear friend of ours was our photographer and he did a wonderful job.

I hope you all enjoy these and thank you for being a part of our lives.

Babe - I love you. Happy Anniversary!

Closing and Moving

Wow, what a week it as been. As soon as we returned from Las Vegas and three hours of sleep later, we closed on our loft in Atlanta. This is big news. It will be a place to meet with you, our clients and to continue to foster our great community of photographers here in Atlanta. Moving was yesterday. Here are a little teaser of pictures to get your mouth watering. We will post more when the loft is finished.
