Lighting Workshop

Chris and I are constantly educating ourselves to be better photographers. We thrive on gaining more knowledge and ideas. This weekend we went to a lighting workshop hosted by Zack Arias here in Atlanta. It was a great time. Here are our pictures from the workshop and of our awesome subject, Angeline.

Then we worked on modeling for each other. Chris took this great shot. I love how it turned out.

Michael and Shantel

Today I met up with Michael and Shantel. They are from South Georgia near Savannah, but are getting married in the city. Their beautiful wedding is going to be in April. They were in town making plans and sampling wonderful food for the wedding. We decided to meet up and take their engagement pictures in Atlanta. We stopped of at a wonderful flower shop. It was beautiful and nice to smell as well. Shantel's colors are lime green and a redish/hot pink color. She loved all the flowers and colors in this little shop. They even had her flowers...almost the right color. Thanks Michael and Shantel, I had a wonderful day with both of you.

He did good!

Tonight we came home from a Pictage meeting and from a draining day in the city. When we came home, my Valentine's Day present was finally here...Chris warned me that it was going to be late. He gave me a gift certificate to Blue Medspa here in Atlanta! I can spend it any way I like. He knows how busy we have been and will be with wedding season gearing up. He wanted me to take time out for myself. What a prince! Oh, and he also had me two of my favorite Chocolove bars yesterday...I made him a delicious meal on our beautiful china...it was great!

Also waiting for us when we arrived home...a new engagement album from Pictage. It has a brushed metal cover, and we love it. It was a very good mail day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, it's Valentine's Day. I used to hate this day and thought it was such a waste of time and a HUGE cliché. Well, now that I have someone who is totally devoted and in love...it makes me be OK with it. : ) We are actually celebrating this fine day. We are trying to make time for "us," even though we are busy working to make wonderful images for our amazing clients. When I woke up this morning Chris had little love notes all over the house...in the bathroom, the computer, at the breakfast table, in the refrigerator. He's so cute. We've had a very stressful week and I am going to try my best to relax a little today and appreciate all the love I have around me. I also woke up to a present on my door step from my Dad, who still gives me a Valentine's Day present every year with out fail. Thanks Dad! Oh, and I can't forget my wonderful Valentine's Day card from my niece and nephew that I received in the mail. : )

Love to you all and to those you love!

What do you love?

Blu's blog made me think about what I love today. There is so much in my life that I love. Since Valentine's Day is coming up, Chris was definitely at the top of my list. Then chocolate came to mind. I have not had chocolate for about four months thinking I was allergic to it...source of my migraines...we tested it this week...no migraine! SO, now I can eat all I want. :D Cross your fingers that they don't start, and yes that does say "chocoLOVE" These are amazing chocolate bars...my favorite has crystalized ginger!

What do you love?

Busy January = February Tulips

We've been very busy in January and the beginning of February. We've had a great time, but we are tired! We had a wonderful chance to go to the Joe Bussink and Marcus Bell tour hosted by Graphi Sudio. It was a great time on Friday and we also loved spending time with Andrew and Rachel Niesen and Garrett and Joy Nudd. Both couples bring an immense amount of inspiration to both of us. They are amazing photographers and wonderful friends.

Here is a picture of us with our friends :) Joy, Garrett, and our Pictage rep...one of the nicest guys around...Adam Linke. By the way this fun picture came from Garrett's camera...I'm still trying to remember who took it...was it Charles? I think so. :) You can see more fun pictures from that day on their blog.

Joe and Marcus breathe passion. They were very encouraging and continued to stoke the fire we hold for photography. All we can say is thank you for this tour.

I've been taking it easy today and Chris just came home with a bouquet of my favorite flowers...tulips. : ) It was a good surprise.

Thanks Babe!
