Vote for your favorite!

People are telling us their favorite farm image via email or in person. We love each image for different reasons, but some pull us more than others. So we'd like to know what yours is. Vote in the comments and tell us what your favorite is and why. Someone might even get a surprise for the best answer! : )

I cast my vote for Image #8, 'cause I love corn! I eat it like Donald Duck! You know, it makes the sound of a typewriter, with a ding at the end of each row.

Hi, Katie and Chris! I think my favorite is the first shot of the silos. They just seem to be standing like towers of strength against the fragile world around it. They hold the bounty of that world harvested and protect it from the harshness the change of seasons bring. Nice shot!

My favorite (which has now become my desktop background, hope that's okay!) is the one posted on 10/8 of the fields after harvest and the sunset. I love this image!

Hi Katie & Chris!

I come to your blog often but I guess this is my first time to comment... okay, you got me, that "surprise" you mentioned lured me. LOL

Anyhow, as I told you in my recent email, my favorite got to be the last image of the land, sky and clouds. I just love LOVE that image, cause it so reminds me of Van Gogh's paintings and he is one of my all time favorite artists. It's my wallpaper on my work computer and every morning I log onto my computer, it makes me so happy. :)

I like them all because I never see anything like that in Orange County, CA. It feels like I am looking at a National Geographic Magazine.

... I do appreciate you for providing links to definitions to some key terms. Now I know what a "tractor" is, and what a "German" is.

Hi Chris & Katie!
My name is Brooke. I found your website through Blu and I love blogs so I thought I would comment about your farm pictures.
I am from the south. East Texas to be exact. I was raised in a very country home with cows, horses, tractors, etc. My Uncle is a Farmer and my other Uncle raises Cattle. So these pictures remind me of home. However, the one that really struck me was the one of the horse and buggy. I remember seeing pictures of family from the 1900's with horses and buggies. This looks like you restored it, instead of taking it :-)
I love your work and how you make it Art. I also have a photography business and yall are for sure people to look up to! Amazing work!
Thanks so much!! Brooke

Oh, you would ask.....well, first of all, I am excited because I am certian that the prize will be an expense paid TRIP to Iowa. And I love going there.

I think #9, the corn with the sun shining through it. As I always say, the fall with the harvest and the productivity of the land. The reward for the year of planning, planting, praying all comes to fruition at harvest. That picture captures the fullness and the hope of the harvest. Love it!

Do I win????

Love you guys! Mother

Oh, I didn't realize the prize was a trip to Iowa!! In that case, let me take a minute and decide on my favorite b/c I have to be in the running for such a great prize!

I would say my favorite is the green grass. I just love the lushness, the obvious fertility, and the beautiful color. Our drive to Indiana last year showed us the progression of green grass as we got further north and it made us want to stop on the side of the road and just roll around. :)

Did I win?

Just to clear up any confusion. The surprise is not a trip to Iowa. : ) I do love Charlotte's reply and her reference to Van Gogh. So, she gets the prize! Watch your mail box. : ) Congrats!

These are all fascinating images. My favorite is the detail of the tractor wheel - it has character.

Regis, : )

The reason why you did not win: you did not say which one was your favorite. A key part of the contest. : )

You are a mess!
